This past April, it was time again to participate in the biennial “NELAP Laboratory Accreditation” assessment performed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). This is a mandatory requirement to maintain NELAP Accreditation in the State of Texas and is assessed to the guidance of The NELAC Institute (TNI). We have now participated every two years since the inception in 2008 in the State of Texas. The assessment consisted of four days of a comprehensive review of our technical laboratory procedures, as well as an extensive review of EAS’ “Quality Assurance System” procedures and documentation. This assessment is followed up with any necessary “Corrective Action” required due to any observed deficiencies. We are proud to say that EAS has been evaluated very well, with a few items to deal with, as always expected for “Continued Quality Improvement”! All of our laboratory personnel did a great job during the performance of the assessment, as we were also very proud to see them working very closely and confidently with the TCEQ assessors.

EAS management and laboratory personnel always strive to achieve the high level of excellence required to maintain the quality expectations that our clients deserve. Once again, we have been able to demonstrate this accomplishment with our renewal & achievement of “NELAP Accreditation” in the State of Texas for 2016. We have also renewed our secondary “NELAP or LELAP Accreditation” with the State of Louisiana and certifying the same full list accredited analytes as we maintain in Texas. We hope and expect to continue these accomplishments in the future!
